Art Under the Stars May 5

Art Under the Stars’ shoes will lead you on an Art Walk in Shelburne Falls. Stroll across the Deerfield River and through dozens of shops, galleries, and restaurants for an evening of new exhibits, receptions with artists, studio demonstrations, interactive art, and delicious treats. Gaze out over Salmon Falls and the glacial potholes, walk the Bridge of Flowers, and enjoy the evening under the stars in this jewel of an artisan’s village. Art Under the Stars is free to the public and there will be plenty to do and see. 5-9 p.m.

BMAC is pleased to be partnering with C.X. Silver Gallery to present Cai’s Dim Sum Teahouse @ BMAC, a monthly Asian dining experience taking place in the Museum’s Center Gallery. The third Friday of each month, 5:30-9:00 p.m., enjoy authentic dim sum from a pushcart, surrounded by BMAC’s current exhibits.

The menu includes vegan, gluten-free, and wheat-free options.

Brattleboro Museum & Art Center Art Auction

Brattleboro Museum & Art Center is auctioning original glass sculptures through Friday, Dec. 2. Winning bidders of these priceless “imaginary creatures,” designed by children in grades K-8 and created in glass by 12 regional glass artists will be announced at the museum during this Friday’s Gallery Walk. Bidding continues this week for anyone who would like to own or give as a gift a unique sculpture by a renowned glass artist.

The 12 sculptures featured in VT Kids Design Glass  are being auctioned off to raise money for BMAC’s ongoing work with children and teens.

The Northfield Mount Hermon female A capella group,  The Nellies,  are pleased to announce a special dinner and performance at The Gill Tavern on Tuesday, December 13,  starting at 6:30.  A three course dinner with your choice of entree will be served while you listen to The Nellies.

Ben Robertson in “The Owl and the Pusscat” in Keene

Performances of the warm and funny “The Owl and the Pussycat” by Bill Manhoff will be Nov. 11-12 and Nov. 16-19 at 7:30 p.m. The play is about two people— Doris, a prostitute, and Felix, a clerk in a bookstore—who harbor delusions. She thinks of herself as an actress/model and he sees himself as a talented writer. When they fall for each other, their romance provides the springboard for them to discover and accept the truth about themselves. This appealing comedy is perennially popular because of the strong and likable, and very human, characters.

Rated PG-13  for adult situations. Directed by Kim Dupuis. Featuring Dakota Benedetto and Ben Robertson.

Dickinson Library: An Evening of Storytelling for Adults and Teens

Each year on the Saturday before Thanksgiving, “Tellabration,” an evening of storytelling, is hosted in communities around the country. This year, Northfield’s Dickinson Memorial Library will host its third “Tellabration” on  Saturday, Nov. 19, at 7 pm. Celebrated storytellers Onawumi Jean Moss, Laconia ‚ Lot Therrio, and Rona Leventhal will present an evening of cross-cultural stories and tales.

Tellabration was started by the Connecticut Storytelling Center in 1988. In 1990 it expanded nationwide under the National Storytelling Network. It is now an annual international event.
